Implications of climate change on investments conference in Copenhagen a great success

  Conference report

The conference held in Copenhagen on 11 and 12 November on the implications of climate change on investments was judged a great success by the overwhelming majority of participants. The conference speakers, such as Connie Hedegaard, Denmark's Climate and Energy Minister, were generally considered to be of a very high level.

After the introductory speech by Patrick Van de Steen, the 170 institutional clients, journalists and other participants in attendance were invited to take a closer look at the challenges presented by climate change ahead of the Copenhagen summit.

The presentations and round table discussions, featuring highly-experienced portfolio and pension fund managers, enabled conference participants to gain a better understanding of the potential impact of climate change on investments.

This first event co-organised by Alfred Berg, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, and Fortis Investments was an excellent showcase for the companies’ complementary expertise and ability to work together.

Client feedback on the event was very positive. Underlining the quality of the programme, many clients judged it to be the best organised conference that they had attended on climate change.

Here are some of their comments:

“Thank you for this excellent event and its faultless organisation. I hope we can put into practice what we have learnt next year.”
